Hello lovelies,
Five weeks in to quarantine, how are you doing? Does the weekend mean anything to you anymore? Are you getting the space you long for, the rest you crave, the support you need? I think—for most of us—asking for and receiving support is a whole lot harder than giving it, and now is a ripe time to learn.
When I am in a position of asking for help, my instinct is to apologize for needing it at all. But then I remember how good it feels to support people who receive it with openness and gratitude.
And so I strive to say “thank you” when I’m dying to say “I’m sorry.” Thank you, it’s so simple, so sweet a phrase. A perfect replacement for “I’m sorry” in almost every situation. May this upside down time be an opportunity for us all to learn to ask for (and receive) help in a whole new way!
And, though it wasn’t my intention when I started writing, this intro makes me realize that I want to practice asking for help right now!
Help!
Our business was in its wee stages of new growth when this pandemic swept the world. All of the sales events and house parties we had lined up for the season have been cancelled until further notice, and our opportunities to expand our customer base have been thus curtailed.
And yet, we know there are other avenues for spreading our healing love and beauty in the world… like you, our pioneer supporters!
If you have benefitted from our healing potions, read my book, enjoyed a tarot or astrology reading, or simply believe in what we’re doing, could you please take a minute to share a kind word and a link to our site, Instagram profile, or Facebook page with your friends and/or social media network? (And let them know that we do monthly giveaways for everyone on our mailing list!)
We would also appreciate reviews of our goods + services via email, on our Facebook page, or in the comments section of this post. And when we can gather in person together again, we’d LOVE to come to your place for a Spread the Love Gathering! Be in touch if you’re interested. We travel for love and would be so happy to have a visit with you to look forward to.
THANK YOU!!!!
(It felt a little awkward to write this but actually not too bad.)
Now it’s your turn. I dare you to ask for help today. And if asking for help is actually a very easy and common thing for you, then I dare you to offer your support to someone today!
FOUR OF WANDS
And now, a tarot reading. I pulled a card for us today asking, How should we BE right now? And look what we got… the Four of Wands! I don’t need to interpret anything, really. The picture says it all. But I do love to interpret, so here we go.
These two characters have their arms raised high in celebration. Their hands are full of flowers and they are wearing flower crowns. They are on one side of a threshold and are heading toward its bedecked archway. A beautiful, fiery, fruity threshold that sings the word “CELEBRATE!!” and represents the passage from one life phase to the next.
Note, too, that they are heading away from the gathering of people behind them and toward an open unknown.
In other words, this card is asking us to celebrate, even as we head away from the party and toward the unknown. It’s asking us to celebrate Now. On THIS side of the threshold. Not waiting until we cross it. Not waiting until we can hug our beloveds again or return to our normal routines, but lifting our arms high and shouting YES! to whatever is here and lies ahead! Is there anything you can shout YES to right now? A piece of chocolate cake or help you just received or the spring flowers exploding around you?
To be sure, the cards and I NEVER want us to dismiss the parts of us that feel sad or lonely or unmotivated, but sometimes we are best served by shifting our attention toward what IS working, what IS right, what IS beautiful and sweet in our worlds.
And so, with no further ado, take a break from whatever’s bringing you down and plan a little celebration. Make it special. Dress up. Invite your people in body or spirit or webcam. Raise your arms high and make a toast. Sing it aloud!
I sing YES to YOU! And the sneaky chocolate lily I saw today.
Be well, in love and beauty, Becca. xoox
