Full Moon in Cancer Guided Meditation
Good day!
Today, at this exact moment, actually, there is a full moon eclipse in the watery, tender sign of Cancer. This sign is known for its depth and range of emotions, its vulnerability, and its need for tender-loving care.
SO! I spent the first part of my morning in the cold but quiet sauna recording a guided meditation for us all in honor of this potent moon.
This moon is an invitation for us to feel all the feelings that live inside of us and to witness them with lovingkindness. It’s an invitation to feel our joy, as well as our grief, our anger, our fear, and our deepest wounds so that we may heal them.
The beloved astrologer, Chani Nicholas, also says that, “In Cancer, this eclipse asks us to care about this moment like it is a portal into everything we’ve ever wanted to manifest. Because it is.”
YES!!!! And in order to go through that portal, we’ve got to welcome and work with all the feelings circulating inside of us. May this meditation give you an entry point to them. (You can find it at the top of this post.)
It begins with a Rumi poem.
The Guest House
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice. Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.
And the meditation ends with a one-card tarot reading for us all from the Margarete Petersen deck. I asked the cards for support in meeting the current energies and got the Three of Flames.
This card is all about creativity! And so it’s telling us to meet the oceans of emotions inside of us with our creative energies. Draw! Paint! Sing! Write! Cook! Make a collage!
Let our joys and angers and sorrows and fears fill the pages and the airwaves with the beauties of our guest houses’ visitors.
Finally, I have some journaling prompts that I did NOT include in the recording:
To my inner guest house I welcome…..
Imagine the feelings swirling around inside of you as separate, personified guests. Imagine setting a place at the table for each one of them and giving them a chance to speak, one by one.
Write the story of that dinner party. Let each guest at the table have a voice by writing what they want to say to you. And then write what you want to say to them, knowing that—no matter how difficult they may seem on the surface—every being at your table is good to the core and deserving of your love.
In order to manifest _____, I am willing to let go of_____. Repeat, repeat, repeat.
Take sweet care of yourselves during this time of heightened emotions and cosmic thunder! Slow down, nestle in, and gift yourself with many loving actions and thoughts.
In love and beauty, Becca
