Well! Did you know that we are growing one sweet acre of CBD hemp!? It’s true! And when I say “we”, what I really mean is Seth and his dear friend Sunny.

While ginormous hemp farms are popping up all over Southern Oregon and beyond, Nymph and Woodsman has actually downsized significantly from the 15 acres we did last year to just one. That’s right. One.

Just as we like to buy our veggies from small farms using practices that take into account the well being of the entire ecosystem, we’ve decided that our own well being AND the land’s are best taken care at the small scale.

It means that Seth and Sunny can tend to each plant closely. It means that, instead of the broad ribbons of plastic “mulch” that most large-scale hemp farmers use, Sunny keeps the weeds down with a rechargeable electric weed whacker. It means that we have time to take a lunch break AND a dinner break. It means that we are sleeping eight hours a night.

It means that the hemp is supporting us in our endless quest to create a life of love and beauty, and that we, in turn, can share the healing goodness of these magical plants from a place of balance and joy with you! It’s really the only way.

And these plants are looking and smelling gorgeous right now! They’re happy and they want the world to know! If you know a hemp plant in flower, you know what I’m talking about. If not, look closely at the purple fibers curling out of the bud, the exploding-star leaves dancing in the fall breeze.

As I type, Seth and Sunny are putting the finishing touches on the drying room. Tomorrow we will begin harvest in earnest and pace ourselves over the next month. And then all this love and beauty will go out into the world in the form of relaxing smokables, healing potions, and nourishing body care products.

Meanwhile, our CBD hemp oil from last year’s harvest is being made into healing salves right now! Labels have just been ordered! And within about a week we will have CBD salves and a CBD tincture ready for YOU!

Our salves are made exclusively with organic oils and organic beeswax AND infused with either the Douglas Fir or Incense Cedar essential oils that Seth made from tree limbs he trimmed for fire protection on this land and steam distilled himself.

I really can’t put to words how AMAZING those oils smell! And each of is super healing all by itself. But, if you prefer the straight-up hemp scent, we also have an “Au Naturel” option. It smells like fall in Southern Oregon.

Our tincture is made with organic cane sugar alcohol and coconut oil and that’s it. Oh, CBD hemp oil, too. Simple and potent. Nothing mysterious. It’s a great potion for bedtime, for pain, for stress, for menstrual cramps, for fighting off a cold, and for calm. It also pairs really well with sparkle water, lime, and mint. Or cocoa and maple syrup. Or Coffee!
